At Slickwhips, we back riders who put everything into the sport, and Billy Green just wrapped up another grueling week at the Scottish Six Day Trials. The SSDT is a unique event - low-scoring, unforgiving, and zero-tolerance for mistakes. Billy put in a strong performance to land a 6th-place finish, but in a trial this tight, a few small slips make all the difference.
Here is Billy’s take on how the week unfolded in Scotland...
“As always, the SSDT is a special event—one of a kind, which is like no other.
I look forward to this event, especially riding around with my friends, and this year, with some decent weather!
Riding-wise, it wasn’t an amazing week for me. With so many top riders and it being a low-scoring event, you cannot afford to make any mistakes.
It’s not to say my week was bad; there were many times I rode really well and was pleased with how it was going.
However, there were half a dozen times through the week it was like my head switched off and my foot went down! Those six marks would have put me very much where I wanted to be, rather than 6th place.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, as I know where I can be and what I can do... but that’s trials!
Next up is the first round of the World Championship in Japan, May 16th/17th.
Time to rest, recover, and reset before flying on Tuesday.
As always, thank you for your support. It means the world.
— Billy”
